When the Past is Prolonged Part 2

Here is Part 2 of "When the Past is Prolonged", my thesis from the Urban Violence Laboratory led by Elisandra Garcia at the University of Oregon. In this section, I propose a solution to combat the gentrification and erasure of Black and Brown families and cultures in Portland. The project introduces a Business Incubator that includes spaces for culinary, fashion, and service businesses (such as nail and hair salons), alongside a public library, community garden, and a marketplace with vendor stalls. Surrounding the area is a large park, all designed to foster community and cultural preservation.
